We have free plane tickets (alaska airlines–travel pretty much anywhere in the USA) and don’t know where to go—nowhere in california, please.
Is a family with a two adults, and two teens 13/15.

Don’t forget that you can fly not only where Alaska flies, but also their partners, which is almost everyone. American, Delta, Northwest, and Continental are the first ones to come to mind (and not United or USAirways).
So, I would say, why not Alaska itself, or Canada?
